The Education Commission of the States also recently released a separate report that examined how many board-certified teachers are in each state, and what resources exist to help them become certified.
It found that more than 112,000 teachers in all 50 states and the District of Columbia were indeed board-certified, and that 10,000 more would be certified by the year 2017. North Carolina had more teachers with board certification than any other state.
